This is the superior Houjicha Roasted Green Tea of ITO KYUEMON (the famous Uji Green Tea brand / Shop in Kyoto since 1832)
There are 3 different level (quality) of Houjicha in this brand. and this one TAKARA KAORI is the best quality and most expensive one of those. once you try this Houjicha, you can't change different Houjicha just like us.
The rich aroma of roasted green tea makes you feel very comfortable and it perfectly suits for the meals. Of course with Japanese meals, but it's perfectly matching with the western foods, light snacks, sweets...etc.,
There are less caffeine among the green tea (about 20mg per 100ml) so in Japan, Pregnant women and children enjoy this tea. and it's also good to drink Houjicha after the dinner to calm the stomach. Houjicha is often served as a service just after the meal in the Japanese restaurant.
In the Summer, We hardly recommended to taste "Cold Houjicha" which is really refreshing ! it's not to difficult at all to prepare, just boil the water then put some houjicha leaves and stop heating and leave about 15min. then remove tea leaves and you can stock Houjicha in the fridge. that's all !
